We offer individual instruction in stained glass window design as well as glass fusing and slumping.
Lessons are geared to the individual skill level of each student with a preferred maximum of two students per class.
Introduction to Stained Glass
In this 2 hour introductory class you will learn how to cut stained glass, how to use the copper foil method and soldering techniques to make a small window hanging. $80.00 + GST includes all materials
Stained Glass for Beginners
In this 21 hour course that runs for 7 weeks, we will teach you the basics of working with lead and copper foil in this two part program. First you will learn to build a small panel using the traditional leaded glass technique. In the second half of the program, you will learn to build a small tiffany style lamp using the copper foil method. We provide patterns, glass, lead, copper foil, solder and the free use of our equipment. You will need to purchase personal hand tools such as a carbide wheel glass cutter and grozing pliers costing $50.00 - $100.00. For your convenience, we offer personal tool kits at a discount price starting at $45.00. Please note that Introduction to Stained Glass is a prerequisite for this class or consultation with the instructor to determine your level of skill. $350.00 + GST for 21 hours/7 weeks
Intermediate Course
Do you have a project in mind that you feel anxious about completing on your own? Need a little direction from an expert? We can help guide you through the process. $200.00 + GST for 10 hours
Designing for Stained Glass
Learn to make your own pattern from conception to completion of the project. Perhaps it is a design of your own or something taken from a picture. We can show you how to lay up a pattern for lead or copper foil technique, how to choose the appropriate glass and how to build for structural strength. $80.00 + GST for 2 hours
